Eames Plastic Chair installation at LDF 2017, by Vitra
Furniture company Vitra is harking back to Charles and Ray Eames’ classic plastic chair with a new interactive exhibition set to take place during this year’s London Design Festival.
The Eames Plastic Chair installation will showcase physical versions of the chair, and engage visitors through a digital experience allowing them to create their own versions in different combinations of colours and materials.
They can then use a configuration tool to visualise how the chair might fit in their home or office.
The Eames Plastic Chair, released in 1950, was the first mass-produced plastic chair in the history of furniture, and is now manufactured by Vitra.
The installation takes places at the Clerkenwell showroom. London Design Festival runs from 16-24 September 2017 all across London.
